4:00 pm - 5:00 pm	Panelists: Drs. Kim Selting, Alison Masyr, Samantha Beeson How do I treat histiocytic sarcoma? Synopsis: Histiocytic sarcoma is a challenging tumor to treat because of its variable and sometimes aggressive (both local and distant) behavior. Once diagnosed, and in the absence of regional or distant metastatic disease, surgical excision is performed if possible which depends on location and local invasion, similar to other sarcomas. However, adjuvant or alternative treatment can be influenced by many factors. While CCNU (lomustine) has a well-established role in adjuvant chemotherapy, the recent discovery of molecular targets such as mutated PTPN11 and the MAPK pathway (MEK inhibitors) offers hope for refractory or recurrent disease. We will discuss alternatives to surgery including radiation therapy for non-resectable or oligometastatic disease, novel molecular druggable targets currently under investigation, and how we might approach discovering new treatment options for a complex disease such as histiocytic sarcoma using big data approaches.

Lauren Smith-Oskrochi, Michelle Turek, Megan Mickelson, Brandan Wustfeld-Janssens Moderator: Emma Warry Complications of Cancer Treatment Case-Based Panel Discussion Synopsis: This panel will open with 2-3 representative clinical cases designed to prompt discussion among panelists on treatment sequencing, integrated surgical and radiation planning, healing risks, and strategies to minimize complications. Audience participation will be encouraged throughout to foster dialogue around real-world decision-making in multimodal cancer care. The second half of the session will transition to an open question-and-answer forum to address attendee-driven topics and challenges.
3:30 pm - 4:30 pm	Panelists: Drs. Corey Saba, Michael Deveau, Vanna Dickerson, and Shay Bracha Clinical Dilemmas Synopsis: This panel explores the complex management of veterinary oncology patients, focusing on balancing aggressive multimodal therapies with the unique challenges posed by co-morbidities and multiple tumor types. Experts will discuss how to bridge gaps in physical and financial accessibility to care while navigating high-stakes client expectations through transparent communication. Additionally, the session evaluates the role of clinical trials, weighing their potential for medical advancement against the practical hurdles and ethical trade-offs of experimental treatments.
