Minerva adopted her mom in October of 2012. Her mom was 20 years old, living alone for the first time, & strictly a “cat person”, but Minnie didn’t see this as a dealbreaker & she was willing to put training into the right human. Over the next 11 years, they became inseparable.
In 2017, she was hit by a car & lost the use of her leg. That didn’t slow her down in the slightest. She was the rock in her mom’s life whether that was graciously eating the cheapest dog food because being young & broke was hard, only giving limited side eye on wine night, or comforting her through her divorce. In 2020, she started coming to work with her mom & became the unofficial office mascot, winning the hearts of everyone in the building.
She was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in December of 2021, & was given less than three months to live. Doctor Holland got Minerva in quickly for treatment & she spent the next two years living her best life every day. Car rides, naps in the sun, amazing food, & more attention than she could dream of. She was loved, & gave absolute love in return. After 22 months, she passed away in the warm sunlight of a lazy Saturday afternoon, surrounded by family.
