Angel was such a spunky dog! She came from a breeder and spent the first three years of her life in a puppy mill. When we first met her, she had very little human interaction and was extremely fearful, but she always seemed more at ease around other dogs. We flew to SD to meet her and bring her home, and from the very first day, we loved her deeply. At first, she didn’t know how to walk on a leash or trust people. It took about a year for her to start acting more like a “normal” dog. She became completely devoted to me. I’ve never seen a dog so attached to their human as Angel was. We got a puppy because she loved being around dogs, and we wanted to give her a companion. She quickly bonded with the new pup and seemed genuinely happy to have a friend. But just a few months later, we received the heartbreaking news that Angel had lymphoma at the age of 5. We were devastated. After much research and several vet visits, we found an excellent small oncology clinic, Veterinary Oncology & Referral, about 30 minutes from home in Milford, OH. They treated her for a year and a half, and during that time, she stayed strong and fought with everything she had. Angel was truly the best dog.
