Brooke Quesnell,
VTS (Oncology)

Each year, the Veterinary Cancer Society offers a scholarship of up to $2,500 to assist with travel-related expenses associated with a member technician’s pursuit of a VTS in oncology.  The scholarship may be granted to as many as two veterinary technician members in any year.  Members interested in applying for the scholarship must meet the following criteria:

  • Must be a current member of VCS, must have been a member for two full years prior to applying, and must maintain their VCS membership throughout the testing period.
  • Submit the scholarship application to VCS no later than October 1st. Scholarship recipients will be chosen at the EC meeting in October each year and winners will be informed soon thereafter.
  • Must pursue the oncology-related specialty only.
  • Must provide letters of support from their board-certified oncologist mentor or other supervisor.

Scholarships may not be carried over to future years. If the member’s application has been rejected by AIMVT, or he/she decides to postpone taking the exam, the scholarship does not carry forward, however, he/she may reapply in the future.

2021 Deadline:  The application deadline for those who plan to submit their application to AIMVT in September 2021 and sit for the exam in 2022 is October 1, 2021.
