CONFERENCE QUESTIONS

  • Question:  What time does the conference begin and end?  The conference begins with a Welcome Reception on Saturday evening at 6 pm.  Scientific presentations begin on Sunday, March 16th at 8:00 am and will end at 12:00 pm on Tuesday, March 13th at 1:30 pm.  You can find a complete conference schedule here.
  • Question: What meals are provided at the conference? As of now, attendees will receive light hors-d’oeuvres at the Welcome Reception, breakfast on Sunday and Monday morning, mid-morning and afternoon food & beverage breaks each day, one ticket to the Banquet on Monday evening and lunch on Tuesday afternoon.  All other meals are on your own.You may purchase guest tickets to the Monday evening banquet and Alaska Native Heritage Center for $80.  There are children’s prices.  Please email vetcancersociety@yahoo.com for more information.
  • Question:  I have been selected to present a poster at the conference.  When can I hang my poster?  You will be able to hang your poster anytime after 6 pm on Saturday.  All posters will be marked with presenter names. Posters must be removed by 12 pm on Tuesday.Your poster must be 3 feet wide by 4 feet tall (vertical) so that two posters can fit on one board.  There will NOT be a poster reception at this conference.
  • Question:  I have been selected to present my abstract orally.  How do I submit my presentation?  Presenters are asked to submit their abstract prior to the conference via a linnk that will be sent to them.  We also suggest that you bring your presentation on a flash drive.  We will have a PC being used so prepare your presentation on a PC.  If you must use a MAC, you must bring your own computer and converter as well.
  • Question: How many CE hours will I receive by attending this conference and when will I receive the certificate?  There will be approximately 16 CE hours provided at this conference and certificates will be handed out on site.

 

REGISTRATION QUESTIONS

  • Question: I want to register as a VCS member but haven’t paid my 2018 dues yet. What should I do?  If you are a VCS member who has not renewed your dues for 2018, we recommend that you do so prior to  registering for the conference so that you can take advantage of the member rates.  Registration opens on November 15, 2017.
  • Question:   I plan to register on site.  What will that cost?  There will be a late fee of $75 charged in addition to the regular registration fee when registering onsite.  See the registration page for more information on rates.
  • Question:  Is there a single day fee for this conference  No.
  • Question:  Will you be live streaming the conference?  Yes.  Registration for the live stream will open on February 1st.

 

HOTEL QUESTIONS

  • Question: When can I make my reservation at the Hilton Anchorage?  The block opens on November 15, 2017.  You can make your reservation using the provided link on the accommodations page.
  • Question:  What is the website address to the conference headquarters hotel?  You can find the website here.
  • Question: When is the last day that I can make a hotel reservation?   The block closes thirty days prior to the conference but please know that it is possible that the block will sell out before then.  After that time, there may be rooms available but you will pay a higher rate.
