The moment we first adopted Panda we knew that he would be someone who would have an everlasting impact on our lives. He was such an intelligent dog. He would know when we were coming home by the sound of our cars and there he would be, at the back door wagging his tail waiting for us to pick him up to acknowledge that we were home. That was the best part of our day. His best trick was “dancing” around in circles until he got a treat even though he didn’t do anything to earn one. He would place his head on our laps at the dinner table and give us the “eyes.” God he had such beautiful, kind eyes that made your heart melt. His kind smile and eyes made even the worst days brighter. He was tiny, but mighty!
Panda was diagnosed with mast cell tumor disease last year and we couldn’t have asked for a better person to work with him than Dr. Wesley Campbell and the team at CARE. They cared for him just as much as we did and did everything in their power to make sure he had the best care possible and the best possible outcome he could have.
Unfortunately, our Panda lost his battle in November of last year and it was the hardest thing we ever had to overcome. His passing hit us hard and it’s still hard to come to terms with. There is not a day that passes by that we do not think of him. We miss his barking, his running around in circles, his need to sleep on our laps and his way of making everything feel better. The good times outweigh the bad and there are so many good times to remember.
My dear sweet puppy Panda, thank you for the everlasting memories and the love you gave us. Keep smiling from above for us.
